The Exchange

Outpost Club is network of coliving spaces with locations in New York, New Jersey and San Fransisco. Coliving is a shared housing model in which our member share kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms, coworking spaces, and sometimes event bedrooms As a volunteer, you will have six main responsibilities: move-ins and move outs, house showings, helping at our events, being the point of contact, organization, light cleaning, reporting, and restocking.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.


Requirements

Intermediate English

Over 18 years old

United States Visa

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or pairs)

Program Details

Our program is definitely different than other coliving or hostel programs. There will be weeks that we ask you to work as many as 30 hours during the week (not often) and other weeks where you will work 5 hours (also not often). Usually you will work around 20 hours a week, but this depends on how many volunteers we have, and how many move-in's / events we have in a week. All of your other responsibilities are routine. In exchange for your 20 hours a week, we will provide you with a bed in a shared room of our choice, at a house of our choice.


Activities & Shift

As a volunteer, you will have six main responsibilities: move-ins and move outs, house showings, helping at our events, being the point of contact, organization, light cleaning, reporting, and restocking.

We will send you a schedule of the upcoming week's move-ins / move-out through our task-completion system, and we will notify you in advance of house showings / events (you will be asked to recruit, attend, set up, and breakdown for all events).

All other responsibilities will need to be once weekly.


Rules

No overnight Guest stays are allowed, unless otherwise permitted by Outpost Club Management.

The Member is responsible for the appropriate behavior of anyone allowed to enter the Outpost Club Property as a Guest.

No subletting.

Wash all kitchen appliances, clean the sink of all food remains and leave no dishes or kitchen equipment in the sink, repeated violations of this rule can lead to the cancelation of your volunteer position.

No pets.

Weekday quiet hours are from 10 PM to 9 AM on Sunday nights through Thursday mornings.

Weekend quiet hours are from 11:30 AM to 10 AM.

No unauthorized parties.

The Member may only use the bed they were assigned.

There is absolutely no tolerance towards physical, sexual or psychological harassment.

Racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia or religious intolerance will not be tolerance.
