Healing Arts and Language Teaching Experience

The Exchange

The experience is designed for volunteers or education graduates that are willing to guide children into a foreign language experience through play and exploration, using the infrastructure nested in nature as learning spaces. The volunteer must cater small learning groups of 2-6 children maximum, aged 2 to 6 years old. This is a full in-context immersion experience and we offer a unique opportunity to work and learn in the Tuxltas Biosphere.

Program Details

Languages are unique descriptions of different worldvisions. To learn a new language is to learn a new way to relate with the world. We want to create bridges between cultures in order to foster sustainable development opportunities for the people that live in the small rural communities around the Sontecomapan Lagoon. The program is held at Los Amigos Ecotourism and Natural Reserve (www.losamigos.com.mx) where participants are provided with a unique context to explore new ways of sharing their mother tongue as a way to sharing the love for the world and its cultures.

Activities & Shift

The participants shall deliver on a five days per week basis a set of guided activities for a small group of childern. We offer materials, guidance and support so that the volunteer can design and guide the flow of his own learning experience according to their expertise, interest and motivations.

We expect that all the participants are fully aware of the responsibility of caring for little children. Waldorf or Montessori teacher qualifications are recommended for the applicants
