Big Bear Lake is one of the first towns with a hostel for thru-hikers attempting to hike the entire 2,650-mile long Pacific Crest Trail. This trail town is a major destination for thru-hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. The lodge you will be living in is from thy early 1900s. So we are always looking for people who are skilled in construction and home maintenance. It's a added bonus if you like the outdoors!Learn more

ITH Big Bear was our first Worldpackers experience, and we loved it!!! The hostel vibe and the warm hospitality make this place special. The crew is amazing and we are having such a great time that we actually extended our stay! Thank you Eric, Taylor and everyone else who make our volunteer experience so much fun!
I love this place so much! All the staff looks like a family, I will miss them. The hours of work are not heavy and you still have the opportunity to meet the other hostels that are part of the ITH network. The Big Bear is a great place for anyone who is looking for a quiet trip, opportunity to get to meet the mountains of California, ski and have fun!
Big Bear ITH is a great place! Really cool nice hostel, and lots of fun (:
Sometimes the entire hostel is being rent so all the staff go hang out somewhere else, we went camping on the beach once, and to the other ITH hostel in San Diego ... so you get to exprience both snowy mountain and sunny beaches (:
There's no words to describe how amazing the place is! From the beautiful house to the charming city and the cutest dog on Earth! Work was always fun, the staff was awesome and I had the time of my life! Would totally recommend it to anyone who's looking for a new adventure!
