The Exchange

Sirma's House is always open to art projects - murals, mosaics, decorations up-cycling materials we have in the yard and the house. Create and/or teach other volunteers and guests. In return you receive free accommodation in the dorm or a private room depending on availability. Expected work about 3 hrs a day. Meals are generally not provided, but there is a kitchen you can use to cook your own meals.


Title

20 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Administration: Help with booking systems and payments.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.


What you get

1 day off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Cook your own meal: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Program Details

We have no overnight shift, but if a guest arrives late we have to receive them.


Rules

Respect yourself and others, be considerate, courteous and responsible. Clean up after yourself. Keep the place the way you would want it to be if you were a guest here.

I expect 3-4 hours of productive work, and you get a day off, with previous agreement on the schedule - the rest of your time is yours. We are serious about our work and expect you to be too. Do not wait to be told what to do all the time. You need to be up and ready to work by 10 AM and show initiative and some enthusiasm about the work at hand; respect the guests' space, limit using the kitchen to couple of hours a day as to leave room for the guests, and generally behave like staff, not a guest.
