Volunteer Coordinator in the largest favela in Latin America and live in Copacabana!

The Exchange

The candidate will be required to help out with daily activities at our community centre in the Rocinha favela of Rio de Janeiro. We have a complete staff on hand so the volunteer's activities can vary from day to day depending on staff needs. This can range from helping language classes, art classes, organizing events, or simply helping take kids from class to class including dance, tennis, English and arts!

What you offer

18 hours of help per week

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teach or help guests or local communities practice a new sport.

Teaching Languages: Teach a language to guests or local communities.

What you get

3 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Cook your own meal: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Program Details

ACE works with volunteers who are committed to donating a significant amount of time to the project. We are seeking people who are eager to immerse themselves in the project and help with whatever needs to be done on a given day. Volunteers should know that tasks vary and we need people who are openminded and willing to help various facets of the project.

We are also looking for hard workers, we understand that you are volunteering your time however if you choose to work with us know that we are a driven team and expect our volunteers to follow suit.

Activities & Shift

The volunteer will be required to work Tuesday-Friday, 2pm-6pm.
