The Exchange

We need help with some building and renovation work from March-May 2019 in particular. Also need help with painting and decorating rooms and exterior of the house, help with fencing land and general maintenance. Need help also with landscaping, mowing and gardening tasks on our grounds (we have a polytunnel and vegetable garden as well). We also need help in the hostel, please see our other posting for that position on this site.


25 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Handyman: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Program Details

We offer full room and board in shared accommodation in the hostel, or in mobile homes adjacent to the hostel, in exchange for 25 hours work per week. You will be able to check a roster and see when you are working and when you have time off each week. Lots of help and training will be given to learn new tasks and settle in. In the low season all food is provided and helpers cook for themselves as a team. In the high season (June-August), our chef and kitchen provide all the staff meals. Free wifi and laundry facilities.

Activities & Shift

5 days a week, 5-hour shifts for a total of 25 house per week for full room and board. Two days off per week.


No smoking inside, (outside is ok). No recreational drugs on or near the premises! Treat others as you would wish to be treated, with respect. No pets allowed.
