The Experience

We need a helper that is nor afraid to make their hands dirty :P Changing sheets, cleaning the rooms, cleaning the floors... etc, should be someone who can do these things exactly and independently. On the week day you might get it easier since our hostel is busier on the weekends and holidays, also you can meet both foreigner and locals here.

Hi there! Have been staying at Formosa 101 main branch for about 1 month. I loved the experience! The people are great(!!!), the hostel is lovely (the location is very good too!) and Taipei is just a fun city to explore! Definitely a recommendation and definitely considering going back to Taipei one day 😜

She was extremely accommodating and understanding of my needs and made volunteering much easier. The children can be a bit too much but they're good kids.

This was my second time volunteering with Formosa 101! The staff is very friendly and kind, and the work is not difficult. The Xinyi location is great because it is near many shops, and the morning fruit/vegetable market is just outside! Also great space for digital nomads to work on the computer and make friends with guests. In all, I love working with Formosa 101 and will volunteer again with them in the future!

Taking care of Vanessa's kids, and teaching them English is pretty straight forward and all in all great expierience. Their place is a bit far away from the hostel, but in exchange for more commuting time you work less hours. The accomondation (the hostel-hostel) is also quite cozy with friendly staff, so I would definitely stay here again. :)

Overall, simple straightforward housekeeping tasks, flexible with hours if you ask/plan ahead and comfortable living quarters. Thank you to the team at the hostel for being helpful and accommodating.
