This was my first worldpackers experience and I am so so glad it was here at lisbon chillout hostel. From the day I arrived, I felt so welcome amongst the other volunteers and quickly felt like I made the right decision coming here. Throughout my few weeks here, the other volunteers were amazing and made my experience so special. The work itself is very fair and I had lots of fun meeting so many guests from all over the world. I mostly ended up doing reception and some housekeeping, I’m very grateful for what I learned here in terms of running a hostel and working with customers.

With such an amazing team and host, this is an experience I would recommend to anyone. The nightshift can be long, but rarely are there issues during the night.

I spent 4 weeks at the Hostel and worked mostly nightshifts as agreed before my arrival.
I was welcomed warmly and was always able to ask questions and even make changes in my work schedule, which was really helpful and nice!
I would have liked/needed a bit better of an update about the schedule though as I suddenly was supposed to be working evening instead of nights for more days than anticipated. It wasn’t a big problem but I would’ve enjoyed better communication. When other staff members fell sick they were allowed to take days off and asked if they needed anything regularly :)
