Program Details

Since the campsite first opened in 2015, we have been hosting volunteers who have helped us create, run and maintain Edinburgh Festival Camping. 230+ individuals from over 30 countries have joined our team and helped us create our fantastic reputation and friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

It works really simply: a volunteer comes and stays with us for free in exchange for 4 hours work a day.

When you volunteer with us, you will have the opportunity to learn some new skills, do different types of jobs and have fun. As it’s only 4 hours a day, you’ll have the remaining 20 hours to enjoy Edinburgh and the Festivals.

If you're able to, please join us for our Pre-Open Volunteer Social Night on Wednesday 5th August from 6.30pm.

Tuesday nights are the Volunteer Social Night where the whole team shares a meal together, provided by us and some drinks!

Activities & Shift

Rules

Can do attitudes and happy campers are welcome!
Please be respectful to your team mates by working as a team, then we can all have a good time.
Please no arrivals on Thursday 6th August (our opening day) or Friday - Sundays once the campsite is open (from Friday 7th August onwards).
Schedules are arranged at the campsite a few days in advance with our Volunteer Manager Coco.
Days off are arranged at the campsite for anyone staying 10 days or longer.
Please bring your own tent and bedding if you can. This is so we can offer tents and bedding to those who cannot bring their own.
If you are borrowing a tent and bedding, you are responsible for pitching and taking down your tent and laundering your sheets (washing machine & dryer available on site for free).
