I had a great time with Michael, Laura, Lucca and Emmanuel!! They are really kind and flexible. The job is a bit heavy but nothing too bad, plus they always try to make you feel comfortable and send you home earlier if possible. The facilities are great and the view from the rooftop is breathtaking. Highly recommend!!

The hostel is surrounded by hills and out of the city. You can rent an e-scooter to explore Bergamo and Cita Alta. There was only one other volunteer working with me. The tasks start at 8:30 serving breakfast to the guests followed by cleaning the dishes, gardening, mobbing the reception and breakfast area. From 9:30 to 1 pm, housekeeping, mopping the corridor and kitchen. These manual tasks take time and you have to prepare yourself to work 5 hours a day for 5 days. I had to leave early for health reasons and to re-enroll in university. Overall, the experience was good!

Thank you for the review (that is in total contraddiction with your reply to ours). But we also want to reply to you.

Raj, as soon as we do not have a poor attitude we just reported in general what was our experience with you: we didn't mention lots of stuff happened, for example that for your immature actions we also did a bad impression to a couple of our guests that reported what you did.

A part from that let's be totally honest: our occupancy at the moment is very low (10 person per day, out of 96 beds available), you worked at maximum 3/4 hours a day because we do not have lot of work, our volunteers are never alone but always with our staff and in this little amount of hours you were everyday late and taking (without asking)breaks for smoking.

This is not a personal thing we have with you, but we take very serious our host part and we also want to help our colleagues because the reviews are extremly important.
The reality is that you don't want to "get your hands dirty", and integrate with the hostel life and vibe: you're using this experience just as a free accomodation and you basically want to do whatever you want.

In the end our suggestion, as professionals, is to be honest with yourself and the other hosts.

I had a really good time in the hostel. All the people who work there are good persons, warm, kind and funny. They respect all that is described in the experience, the work is easy and relax, the hours are ok, and you have a lot of time to enjoy Bergamo after work. The hostel is beautiful, i had a room for me and was very comfortable.
Is a good place to learn Italian and practice English.
Is a little far from the city centre, but you have a bus to go there.
Thank you for gave me a good memory. Grazie mille Enza, Laura, Luca, Giordano, Emmanuelle and Michele, tutto è stato perfetto 💕
