Greetings! We speak from the glorious state of Montana. 60% of our guests represent international travelers looking to explore nearby wilderness, national forests, state lands and national parks in our region. Our friendly host city, Missoula, is a hip & eclectic river-side town, it neighbors native community villages and hosts the University of Montana, many theater/concert venues and a friendly downtown vibe.
5 hours of help per day
Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.
Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Help with booking systems and payments.
What you get
2 days off per week
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Volunteer travelers hosted here gain first-hand experience with the hospitality & tourism industry. They will agree to thoughtfully/flexibly welcome, accommodate, guide and cross-culture with a traveling community of all ages, from both near and far.
We host 2 volunteer travelers simultaneously; they alternate AM & PM shifts and remain "on-call" outside assigned shifts and days off. Our e-commerce centered hostel prioritizes friendly efficient personal service so proficiency in navigating the internet and reading English is a MUST.
This project is relatively small, licensed to host a maximum of 15 guests nightly.
Host staff serve as local "family", live on site and willingly provide pre-service training, ongoing guidance and necessary support. We encourage both permanent and temporary staff to continue or initiate socially constructive programming at the hostel.
Activities & Shift
Morning shift (10:30 AM-11:30 PM)
Greet guests, verify adequate kitchen cutlery & dish ware availability, load/start dishwasher & in-house laundry machine, re-stock tea/coffee stations, remove restroom trash, buff outdoor gardens/courtyards.
Check-out (11:30 AM-noon)
Access online booking system; verify payments & provide necessary invoices, extend/modify bookings or bid guests "farewell!".
Lunch break (noon-1 PM)
Housekeeping (1 PM-3 PM)
Check for early arrivals. Clear dishwasher/laundry machine, prepare beds in dorms (2) and private rooms (3), deliver/pickup/restock linen inventory, remove room/common area trash, sanitize kitchens, restrooms & common areas, sweep & mop.
Wrap-up (3 PM-3:30 PM)
Begin guest check-in, verify new bookings online, update social media & communicate any shift change notes with volunteer teammate(s).
Evening shift (3 PM-8 PM)
On-call (8 PM-10 AM)
