I couldn't have chosen a better place to go, the hostel is super nice and Katrijn and Bart are the best. The work ain't to heavy and you can actually work out with them your schedule so it fits your needs. Highly recomended. Wish i could have stayed longer or could go back!
KaBa is the exact name! Katrijn and Bart make the whole thing happen!
My experience was fantastic! The place is very clean and cosy. The tasks are not a big challenge (good luck with the stairs, though .. haha).
I've got the opportunity of learning while enjoying the hostel/Gent/its people. Such a great time!
Thanks you, guys! Hope to see you again ;)
I had a blast at Kaba Hostel... the work is fun and you get to meet people from everywhere.
Bart and Katrijn are awesome hosts and human beings, they are flexible with days off and you still have plenty of time to get to know the city... I went running everyday while in Ghent and as a brazilian I can say that if you are looking for good quality of living thats the best place to work and share your culture!
I stayed only for a month but would definately stay longer and maybe come back in the future.
thank you for everything!
It was amazing time in Kaba hostel! Work is not too hard and there is plenty of time to explore city. Hosts are very friendly and helpful to adjust work schedule. It is flexible and in most cases you can choose days to work and days off. Hostel is well-maintained and very clean. Usually I was working 12 hours per day, 2 days in week. 5 hours I spent for cleaning and rest of time for reception. Usually reception was not busy, so in the meantime there was some time for chatting with people. Hostel has a great kitchen to cook your food and breakfast served in the mornings was very satisfying!
It's more than a wonderful experience volunteering at Kaba Hostel. Bart & Katrijn welcome me to their beautiful hostel and made me feel at home. They thought me everything with joy & happiness, I'm so grateful to them. I really enjoyed everything from the hostel life to exploring this beautiful & amazing city of Ghent. Everyday in Kaba Hostel is just awesome & it's gets better and better. And I'll miss this beautiful place & family. I hope to come back in the future as a guest or volunteer. I strongly recommend Kaba hostel if you're looking for a wonderful experience. Thank you Bart & Katrijn
We are a small, cosy, friendly hostel with a warm, authentic atmosphere, run by it's two owners (and their two little girls ;-)). We like to distinguish ourselves from the big party hostels through these caracteristics. The artwork from local artists, on the walls all over the hostel, make our place unique and colourfull.About the host
