There are not enough words. Mario and his family made me feel truly at home. This was my first volunteer experience and first time in Mexico and he always made sure that I was comfortable and secure. He treated us with so much consideration and respect and made us feel like our contribution to his hostel was special and impactful. He's worked so hard to create a wonderful place for travellers to connect and friendship to blossom. We shared laughter, stories, music, fire-pit parties on the roof and amazing home cooked meals. I can't recommend Base Camp enough. All my love to beautiful Orizaba!

I came to Base Camp Mexico with my partner and we both had an amazing time. Everyone at the hostel was so incredibly friendly and Orizaba was a great place to spend some time in Mexico. Would definitely reccomend. We did a mix of DIY work and helping clean and cook in the hostel, hours etc were all well communicated and as advertised.

They are laid back and flexible there is no specific schedule and they are not demanding. They treated me like family and I'm so grateful to have met this family. The mother loves to cook so you will have the chance to eat a lot of home made meals and even learn how to make them by helping prepare the feasts. But heads up, there is no handy man position, it's more cleaning and reception although they are open minded to new projects if you offer them like the mural they let me paint. All the guests ended up staying more time cause they were so comfortable. You will be well treated with them!
