The Experience

We're building a school in rural Cambodia, Kampong Tralach (1 hour from Phnom Penh). The school is 80% done and we really need someone with experience installing basic electrical systems. We need someone, ideally in July, or early September. This would be a huge cost saver for our low-budget NGO! Work will include: • Complete wiring of 4 classrooms • Installing switches • Installing lights • Installing plug points • Installing ceiling fans

Learning & Fun

By far the most rewarding volunteering in this trip.
The hosts were amazing, received us as part of the family. Also, they have genuinely good heart and showed me that the organization has a great future ahead, they just need help to make it happen.

The working hours were good and fair. We needed to work in the mornings and afternoons but not long hours. I hadn't done most of the things I needed to do and they taught me very patiently.

I felt very welcomed by the managers of the ngo, volunteers, and students. They were very attentive to us and constantly checking how we were doing. I thank them for it, as well as the opportunity to teach English, drawing, and motivation to the young Cambodians. I would recommend the experience to anyone; however do note that they run a simple facility without some amenities Westerners find essential. Personally I could work with it, and the experience brought gratefulness into my life.

It was amazing to be part of the project and help teach the children. The family is lovely . The children were nice. I already miss everyone and hope that the project grows to help more and more people. Thanks for all, I am so greatful to have made part of the team.

These are great projects that are built there, with people with a big heart. It is very pleasant.
The team is involved and we have been very well received, and the students fit us perfectly.
We were not able to participate in the construction, but I was able to give boxing lessons to the students, who were very responsive, it was great!
Good luck to the whole team for the future :)

Best experience to know about Khemr culture, so friendly people and beautiful projects in the NGO.
