Learning & Fun

To be honest our experience at the Le Penguin hostel wasn’t really that great. Unfortunately, since the very first day one of us became the subject of our boss’s inappropriate behavior, which made our work and stay at the hostel super uncomfortable. That situation made us leave after just one week even though we were supposed to stay there for three.
On a positive note, the hostel itself is a nice place. The work is not hard either and you can find new friends really quickly. However, you need to like a party lifestyle because there’re a lot of drinking games and going out involved.

Was an amazing place to work, everyone was lovely and so easy going with hours, and work around you. Plus the food they make you is incredible. Highly recommend anyone volunteering here

Thank you so much Le Penguin Family!!
I had such an amazing experience, Diego and Kate run the hostel really really well, from Daily Family Dinners, to all you can drink Bucket Nights, Quizz and BBQ Nights, there is always something happening and having fun is a must!
The work it self is very chill and hours are super fair, leaving you with plenty of time to go to the beach and do day trips around other cities within the Algarve.
I had a really good room, breakfast, dinner and sometimes leftovers for lunch and the staff is like a family, can’t wait to comeback!
Obrigado Le Penguin!

This was my first volunteer experience and it turned out to be one of the best decisions ever. I fell in love with the place /people the second I arrived. Everyone here is kind, openminded, friendly, fun and it's easy to make a lot of new friendships. Not to mention the food which was delicious. You can never get bored in the hostel, there is always something fun to do. We went to the beach together, did daily trips, played drinking games, went to the bars. Its a pefect place to spend summer holidays.
I am really glad that I had an opportunity to be part of this amazing team <3

My time at Le Penguin was amazing. It was my first volunteering and I loved it. Everybody of the staff was kind and welcoming - I felt at home immediately. Tasks were explained to me carefully and my working hours and days off as planned. The hostel itself has a great atmosphere since guests and staff are very close. I totally recommend!
