I spent nearly 6 weeks at Bota.Nicas and had a wonderful experience. Maria and Paulo are extremely welcoming and generous and the land is beautiful. Maria and Paulo will often take the volunteers out and visit local cafes and bars, which makes you feel like you know the area well. The food is great and the tents are comfy. They are both very chatty people, so you will have no problems with being bored! I would love to come back in the future to see the progress made on the bio-construction house!

Thanks James for your words. You will always be welcome as well as your bride;) we hope to see you soon.

Bota Nicas is a wonderful place with a good energy. Maria and Paolo are very kind, and I found myself in a very familiar ambient. The project is relatively young, so there is still path to be done. They have big ilussion with the project, and you can see it. In the moment that I was there, we were doing a cob house. We were working more hours than the expected ones, but only because there was a need of continue for trying to advance as much as possible. We also had more time off to compensate that hours. I had a really good experience and I'm happy with the time I spent there.

Gracias mi azafata querida. Volve siempre que quieras. Bota Nocas esta de puertas abiertas ;)

Me (Mario), and my friend (Helena) loved the experience. Maria its a wonderful host and will offer you solutions to every problem. The food is handmade, mostly ecologic and tastes amazing. North of Portugal looks stunning and BotaNicas is not an exception. The environment is clean, and rustic. Maria made it even easier to relax in this quinta (farm) full of nature and good vibes and so did my great volonteering partners. A host brought a guitar, that was cool too. We wish Maria the best, she is lovely. <3

My time in Bota.Nicas has been priceless. I've been volunteering here for 2 weeks so far and I can't thank them enough for what they offered me. You have the choice to work on what you like the most and both Maria & Paulo are quite acknowledged on permaculture fundamentals (specifically on gardening), which was the main reason I wanted to come here as my first experience on this topic. Maria is also a fantastic cook and they both know lots of interesting stories about Northern Portugal and Mozambique. Hope I'll be back here soon and try the amazing Matapa dish again :)

We are grateful for your presence and collaboration ... goodbyes are always something very sad, but I know that we will see each other soon. Giuseppe has 2 houses at your disposal in Portugal (ours and Bota.Nicas), come back whenever you want. and of course, there will be Matapa;) You're in our heart.
