The Experience

We have been open for guests since 2008. During the high season from April till September we are fairly busy due to the size of our hostel, 106 beds. The hostel is located 5 min walking distance to one of the most famous beaches in Holland, with a newly developed boulevard Scheveningen receives a huge amount of tourists and surfers through the beach seasons.

If you have any doubts about working at Jorplace, just go! It will be an amazing experience, Anouk, the boss, treated us like family, she was always available for us and made us feel like at home. Also Olga became a great friend and we are going to miss everyone. About the tasks, they are very chill and don't occupy a lot in your day, so you have plenty time to go around the city and enjoy the amazing beach that is located only 300 m away. The only bad thing about Jorplace is having to leave :( I really hope to come back soon!

The cozy cabin they promote is a dirty, cold, holed cabin in their terrace, used as storage room and surrounded by dangerous metal pieces that hit each other and the cabin when there's wind. No bathroom. No fridge
They get good reviews online by giving away free stuff to people, like caps.
They claim every day if you own them 30 minutes work (due to their Assistant arriving late!!!), but when I did more, it was good I didn't "check the clock"
"I'm a business man; if you don't like it, you're welcome to go" - Manager words to me, when I asked for a room

Katja and Maika are very cool giving a warm welcome since my arrival.
Also all the staff and other volunteers, especially Prince... thanks.
The hostel has a cozy lounge, music playing, snooker and professional kitchen where you can prepare your meals, the market is few doors beside.
The street are plenty of restaurants, bars and facilities, hostel is located close to the beach.
