Gleanings is a wonderful place to stay. This was my first experience as a backpacker and it was awesome!
At Gleanings you'll find the kindest people on Earth. Food was more than enough and excellent, it blows my mind.
Hours of working are somehow long and exhausting but knowing that you're doing it for the people in need makes it all better.
Rod and Henrijs are the coolest guys. They treat backpackers like family and they spoil you like if you were their son. You have the opportunity to meet backpackers from all over the world.
You won't regret staying at Gleanings.

There's no words to describe this place. Since the very beginning I felt very welcomed by all the full time staff members, they are a family, and they make you feel like you are part of it. The work can be a little hard (especially during the summer) but this is a experience completetely worth living, you can meet amazing people, there's always a bunch of backpackers and you can feel this is a blessed place, anyone has the space to get closer to God if they want to (they don't force you or even suggest it, they are very respectful with everyone).

I actually don't have enough words to describe how wonderful this experience was. I was able to make fond memories that I won't forget so easily. I also met amazing people that made feel like home and loved. One of the best part about Gleanings is meeting other backpackers and learning about their lifestyle and home culture. I became friends with some of the staff members and I feel confident to recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a peaceful environment and wants to have a experience living like a local.

Gleanings is a blessed place, in all aspects. Here you will meet lovely people engaged in such a noble cause. You can help in many ways: carpintery, kitchen, sewing or making soup. It's a community that will treat you like family and will feed you like a son too! Be prepared to eat a lot and good food. I'm so glad of being part of this, even for a while. Know that my work will help to feed those in need is so gratifying. Thanks for this unique experience!
