Explore Iceland while gardening for an art project

The Exchange

As part of an art project in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland, we need to cultivate our garden. The project is called ‘The Scent Bank’ (thescentbank.com). We will grow plants indoors in bottle towers (hydroponic) and outdoors. Flowers and plants will be destilled extracting hydrosol and essential oil in order to make a scent library. We are looking a helper who knows about gadening, who can help the project happen, and lend a hand around the house.

Program Details

We will expect you to know about gardening: how to grow from seeds, what soil and nutrition to use, how to cultivate the garden e.g. making raised flower beds. The climate in Iceland is a challenge, but we have gotten sturdy plants and there's plenty of light over the summer.

We will work out a more specific programme together, but otherwise it will be quite flexible.

It is a plus if you know about hydroponics, but not a must.
