The Exchange

3 times a week we take a 3 minute walk to Bar Street and take guests to different bars. Worldpacker volunteers will need to commit to a minimum of 2 months to this position. The duties will include promoting the pub crawls, briefing the guests before leaving, walking all the guest to the bars, encouraging participation and socialising among the guests.

What you offer

24 hours of help per week

Party Promoter: Help organise and promote parties and social activities.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Program Details

As a social coordinator, you must be friendly and comfortable talking with strangers to promote our weekly events. Your duties will be the following:
PROMOTE the events - you will be in charge of getting guests together before the event and socializing with them in the hostel while continuing to recruit new guests, encouraging everyone to join.
SOCIALIZING before, during, and after each night out. Be creative in the way you connect with guests and try to connect guests with other guests. You will be a social butterfly and move around throughout the night, so you will be encouraging guests to join in and meet new people each time you go out.
RESPONSIBILITY – you will be expected to be alert all night, able to tend to any safety concerns throughout the night. You are encouraged to enjoy the events yourself, however you must be a responsible drinker on nights you are on shift.

Activities & Shift

Your shifts would be the following days & times:
Mondays 8pm-2am
Wednesdays 8pm-3am
Fridays 8pm-3am

The last 4 hours of weekly duties will involving hanging out with guests on Sunday nights, playing games or otherwise connecting with guests and promoting the upcoming events.


This is a 2 month commitment (minimum).
You will need to have lots of common sense.
Always be respectful to other staff members, guests, and the bar staff that host you and your group each night.
Under no circumstance are you permitted to engage in intimate relationships with a guest while volunteering at the hostel.
Strictly NO drugs in and outside of the hostel. This is a zero tolerance policy.
