Learning & Fun

It was my first experience volunteering and I really enjoyed my stay with the team. The hostel felt like home after only a few days, and the big advantage is the location you can just grab the surfboard anytime and enjoy the ocean! Lots of love and gratitude for my stay with the guys!

7 waves was my first worldpackers experience and it couldn’t have been better! The hostel is really nice, the bathrooms clean, the beds are comfortable. Angi, the manager, is very organized, straightforward with the tasks, and flexible to help you out if you need anything! Thank you Angi for your delicious pancakes as well😁 Ricardo, the owner, is also always taking volunteers on adventures to viewpoints, beaches... It was really beautiful. During my free days I got to go to Lisbon as well, so it’s a great place to stay if you want to get to know nice beaches.

United Kingdom

This was a great first worldpackers experience. It was raining the day I arrived so the lovely Anna collected me from the bus stop and took me to the hostel and the kindness continues from there. Ricardo keeps you on yours toes and likes to be fun with spontaneous bbqs and road trips to Lisbon and Sintra. Angi keeps the shifts running smoothly and organised in a calm friendly way, starting the morning with her awesome pancakes. Shifts are good, the work wasnt too hard and they make sure you always have two days off. Staff girls only dorm and I loved all the other volunteers I worked with.

I had a nice time at 7 Waves. There was a relaxed atmosphere and I was left to use my own initiative most of the time, which I liked. Probably because it was very quiet though; I imagine high season would be different. The owner was away most of the time I was there but when he was around he was very accommodating. The local area is lovely with great beaches!

The hostel is not far from the beach ,which is more than beatiful.A surfer's heaven.I was there in october and the weather was much better than i expected, plus there were a lot of volunteers .I didn't have the chance to meet ricardo the woner while i was there, cause he was on a trip and i didn't really have surfing lessons, cause he's the teacher, but that didn't bother me much.Work was fair and not that difficult, plus in october you have less guests .Overall i think it was a nice experience,i kind of fell in love with portuguese people, who are really polite and warm, the sea and the city!
