The Experience
Our charity home is for children and the poor & needy men and women of India. We are based in the beautiful hills of Munnar in the heart of 'tea plantations'. Activities we need help with: farming, planting and picking vegetables, daily watering, teaching, psychiatric nursing, shaving, haircutting, housekeeping and working with animals on the farm. You will work 5 hours per day and have two days off per week. Meals are eaten communally.

LFMH is truly an amazing place. They were able to provide me and my fiancé with a private room and were so accommodating to us. You need to be proactive with jobs though, - for example you can go to help in the kitchen, you can help serve lunch dinners etc and help with online presence. The kids are adorable and want to spend time with you. DePaul and his family are lovely and welcoming and answered all our questions. We even got to go to a church festival that happens once a year, where the family welcomed us to join and experience this amazing culture.

We had the most amazing time at the organization. We were provided with a nice comfortable room to sleep in and the food was also delicious! As other people have mentioned, you do need to be very proactive here and find your own tasks to do but there are plenty of things to keep you busy such as helping in the kitchen, socialising with the children, feeding the animals and helping with social media and fundraising. The people here will really have a true impact on your life I can promise you that. We will definitely be coming back again!

I had a truly lovely and impactful experience. Matthew, Molly, DePaul, Dominik and all the staff made me feel like part of a family. I'm really grateful to have done this volunteering. The children are so kind and generous, they spread joy and carefreeness; I learned so much from them. I personally enjoyed it pretty much, I highly recommend it.
