Program Details

The trade deal is 3 hours per night's stay, but we find that people much prefer longer shifts so we have them do 3 @ 6 hr shifts per week, plus you must work one scheduled dinner shift a week, helping prepare employee dinner. This gives you 21 credit hours but also many days off to enjoy the city. Most of the shifts are in the middle of the day (11am to 5:30pm), but breakfast is (7:00am to 2pm) and dinner work is 6pm to 9:30pm.

Please keep in mind we expect our trade workers to be able to follow directions in English, and work hard to keep our hostel clean. While you are trade working here, you are not considered an employee and we at the Green Tortoise have no obligation to keep you on as a trade worker if we notice that you are not doing your job. This means that if you don't do the work, we will tell you that you need to change your work habits and if you do not change then we may say that you can not continue in the trade work program.
