Program Details

Setrawa is a small village of about 3000 inhabitants, situated 110 km west of Jodhpur. Sambhali has been running an Empowerment Centre for women and children since 2007 and has started to support two government schools with volunteers. Volunteers, not only, support teachers at the government schools with giving English and Math lessons for the children there but also teach English and Math at the Sewing Centres in the afternoon.

In addition to classroom activities, the children, living on the outskirts of the village (who do not have access to running water), are also provided with access to personal care such as hair washing, bathing and tooth brushing.

Activities & Shift

During the mornings, you will assist the teachers at the local government schools with teaching basic Math and English to the students. Currently our volunteers in Setrawa also take care of some administrative work in the afternoon, for example looking for new volunteers.
