We are regarded as the happiest city in America with one of the most unique histories and cultures in the world and a music and food scene to back that up! Tapping into social media links our culture to our hostel. Cajun Hostel was founded by a traveler, and thus, understands other travelers. We have a high focus on cleanliness and order. So we expect all volunteers to assist in cleaning our homes. However, this position focuses on marketing and promoting Cajun Hostel. Our volunteers should be savvy with social media so that we can promote to travelers who have never heard of Lafayette, LA, much less Cajun Hostel. We want you to help us reach the masses through all platforms as well as improve our listings to attract more visitors!
Whenever there is a checkout in our property, we expect you to clean the listing the guest resided in, whether it is one bed, one room, or the entire house. We provide a cleaning checklist to make it easy to know how to make our hostels as clean as possible. Our cleaning hours are between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
Marketing wise, we want to contact local businesses and work together to cross promote our services so this is what will take your time.
We don't allow smoking in any of our homes. Since you will be sharing the house with guests, we ask that our volunteers always remain respectful of the home and remember that even when "off the clock", volunteers should leave the property in the best condition possible because a guest can check in at anytime.
