The experience

Hi, we are renovating a former hunting lodge on the edges of a large forest, we are off grid, water from a spring, it’s very quiet and secluded, 2 miles to the nearest village. We are very weather dependant, work is general renovation and household chores to cutting up logs, gardening etc we CANNOT be rigid with days and hours worked, but we try out best, and works out at 25 hours per week, over how ever many days it takes.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Beginner English or Intermediate Bulgarian

Between 20 and 70 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

Living off grid is not as easy as some think. If you’re a girl who likes a hair dryer, summer doesn’t matter, but forget the rest of the year. We do a 5 hours, 5 days a week routine, some days maybe be more, but it’s a rough weekly total, 25 in total, you might do that over 5 days, might over 3, then the other 4 days are yours.
