Explore different cultures and refugees life at Kakuma

The experience

Volunteers will be training our team for capacity building! They will be monitoring our activities and make changes to improve our work. They will be meeting different groups or communities. We expect to be offered capacity building and to be connected to donors. They will be helping 5 days per week, from Monday to Friday. 5 hours per day ( 3 hours morning and 2 hours afternoon). What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Child Care: Help look after, educate and instruct children.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teach or help guests or local communities practice a new sport.

Teaching Languages: Teach a language to guests or local communities.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Drinks: Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Intermediate English

Under 60 years old

Be from outside Kenya

Accepts solo applications and also couples and pairs

Program Details

Not only we expect capacity building from volunteers but also we hope that they will connect us with supporters or donors. From us volunteers will benefit learning refugee life and different cultures from more than 10 nationalities composing Kakuma refugee camp. Also, they will discover artistic and sportive potentialities of the youth even thought they are not promoted. Beside, after completion, a certificate is provided attesting that they have volunteered for our organization.
