The Exchange

We're a foundation created in 2018 to improve on the living standards of the orphans, and vulnerable children in the District, and Uganda at large through mobilization and capacity building. To initiate a healthy sense of self, feel, love and believe that orphaned and destitute can accomplish great things in the future. With us, you are going to enjoy many activities like: - Going to the garden - Child care - Art and craft - Farming etc


40 hours of help per week

Child Care: Help look after, educate and instruct children.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Program Details

1- Going to the garden to doing different works like planting many vegetables or home products (maze, beans, ginger) or going to have them (sweet banana, pineapple, Irish potato), digging, cleaning the useful plants.
2- Helping to take care of the kids (child care): tidying the room, cleaning the floor, making the beds, putting the clothes in order or cleaning it.
3- Doing Art and Craft: Mamma Flor, our mum, can teach you how to make the traditional crafts of Uganda, neckless, bracelets, anklets, headbands…
4- Teaching the kids: you can teach our kids, languages, sports, some games or what you want! Also you can help them with theirhomework, or doing some activities to teach them.
5- Learning different languages: you can learn our language the Lusoga, and others languages that our volunteers know from their countrys! You are going to learn about a different culture and our traditions.

Activities & Shift

6- Help cooking: you can also learn how to do our traditional food, like the Chapat, Rolex, beans, peanuts sauce, matoke and prepare too our coffe! We have them from our garden, we toast them and we crush it and we prepare it to drink!
7- Go farming: you can take care of our animals, we have goats, chiken, rabbits, and dogs that you can feed them and do some maintenance works.
8- Tour with the kids: you are going to the playground we have up there where you can play with the kids or you can go also to the Nile River we have at 5 minutes by walk.
9- Going town (Jinja): you can also take a Boda (motorcycle) for going to the town we have at 10 minutes, we are in Bujagali, near there. In the town you can buy everything you want, there are some markets and supermarkets, and many clothes shops and restaurants.
10- Campsites: we have down there three different campsites, with bars.
