The experience

You will be helping out with the daily running of our hostel. Jobs will range from cleaning kitchen/bathrooms & helping with laundry to sometimes cooking, gardening & running social events. Also, a big part of your job is to be social with other guests, to make them feel comfortable and welcome.

What you offer

15 hours of help per week

Night Shift: Help with night shift tasks and create a relaxing environment for guests.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Party Promoter: Help organise and promote parties and social activities.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

What you get

3 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Program Details

Volunteer for 15 hours (over 4 days) per week in exchange for a bed in our staff dorm and free use of our facilities.

Activities & Shift

Each week is different, you will do a mix of 4 of these shifts per week plus the event night.
Morning Clean: 8am - 11.30am - General clean-up of common areas & kitchen.
Evening Clean: 4pm -7.30pm - General clean-up of common areas & kitchen.
Day Shift: 9.30am - 1pm - Housekeeper Assistant.
Bathroom Shift: 10am - 1.30pm - Cleaning of communal bathrooms.
Family Dinner Shift: 5pm - 8.30pm - Helping to cook and prepare meals for guests.
Pancake Brekky: 8am - 11.30am - Flip pancakes for guests.
Event Shift: 7pm - 9pm - You along with the other volunteers will run an event of your choosing, it might be a dinner, or beer pong, or a scavenger hunt, something fun to get other guests involved in. This will be once per week.

Rules

- BE COOL :) You are a reflection of our business during your time here, you are expected to behave in a friendly and well-mannered way to other staff and customers.

- You need to stay for your agreed time. The job you do is extremely important to the running of our hostel. We ask for a minimum stay of 4 weeks. When you request a date, we work around that when we hire other volunteers so it's very important that you stay for your agreed time so that our hostel continues to run at its best.
