Program Details

We are seeking volunteers to help our Horse Trainer to spend more time training and less time on chores. Some help may also be needed looking after the cattle herd - counting cows, giving injections, etc.

We prefer volunteers to work 6 hours a day, either 8 am - 2 pm or noon to 6 pm (your choice). We provide a private room in our home and daily meals. No smoking on the property at all.
We can provide a ride into town once a week for you to shop for personal items. You may be invited to accompany us on day trips to ride trails, attend clinics or shows - maybe just watching the lesson, maybe participating.

Activities & Shift

Horse care & grooming, pasture checks, feeding, keeping track of needed supplies, riding trails (if qualified) & cattle checks. Keep barn & horse areas tidy, free of rubbish. Repair fences as required.

Choose either 8 am to 2 pm or noon to 6 pm for your shift time.
You will report to the Horse Trainer.

No drugs or alcohol while on the job. No illegal drugs on premises.
Laundry shared with our family. Hot tub shared. Swimming pool &/or cross country skis available to use. Bicycle available but 40 km to town. Pond available for fishing, boating. Trails available for hiking, riding (if qualified).
