My experience at Oportocean was pretty fun. The staff is awesome and I really felt at home. Everyone is treated in the same way (staff+guests) so we usually go out together at night or to the beach. I have to say that some tasks given weren't the ones said on the website what pissed me off a little bit but nothing that a good conversation can't change things. I learned a lot during the weeks I stayed there and I hope to be back in Portugal soon so I can see my Oportocean friends again.
Saudades, Porto! Beijinhos.
This modern, loving hostel is definitely somewhere you should volunteer at. The staff will become your family and the work is very reasonable. Future improvements to the hostel (social etc) are already in the pipeline and will only increase the hostels already high standard.
In short, highly recommend it.
Oportocean Hostel gives ours guests the opportunity not only to enjoy the beautiful beaches of the nothern shore but also to discover the beautiful city of Porto as well as its culture and traditions. Located at only 800 metres from the beach and close to the City Park and the Hospital Pedro Hispano's metro station, it allows our guests to enroll in a varied range of activieties as surfing, walking and cicling.About the host
