The Experience
Do you want to learn a bit of everything about how a hostel works? Join us! You can learn: - Housekeeping: Taking care of the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas, changing bed linens, cooking. - Reception: Help welcoming and checking in guests. - Bartending: Help with general bartending, serving customers on the bar. - Maintenence and construction: Fix broken things and build new things. You'll be part of an 8 - 14 volunteer team!

I volunteered here with my friend and we've had a great time at the hostel :) met lots of interesting people and the working days were ideal. Lots of amazing sights to see on the island, thankful for our stay!

What a great experience! It was my first time volunteering and from day one I felt like I made the right decision. The hostel itself is an older building with some smaller defects here or there, but definetly a cozy a welcoming place with great staff. I was working in construction - I didn't apply for it, but they needed people there and I enjoyed the tasks way more than the cleaning-team's ones. My manager - Juan - was a cool and flexible guy, with whom it was always easy to work with. I found friends from all over the world and managed to drastically imrpove my Spanish. Definetly recommend!

I stayed at Compass Hostel, and I absolutely loved my experience!! I met volunteers from all over the world and learned so much. Ilyas was a great manager and our group of volunteers had so much fun. I wish I could have stayed longer. The company owns 3 hostels (Compass/the hostel/Jungle Hostels) so they may switch you depending on their needs. If you want to clarify where you will be staying you might want to reach out multiple times to the owners. Try to take the time to meet volunteers from the other hostels too, it was so fun meeting everyone and making friends!

SO much fun! I had an amazing time with the other volunteers and management team. This was a wonderful experience. You have to be okay with living in tight quarters with others (and I bought a fan to help me sleep better), but I have no complaints. I enjoyed using the projector in the hostel to have movie nights, I loved the family dinners each week, I have the best memories!!!
