The Experience

Hi, there! We need a handy person who can do several types of carpentry, refurbish rooms, build beds, come with innovative solutions to make our tiny spaces nice to stay at, boost the general atmosphere, do gardening, make a bicycle shack, outdoor barbecue area, and everything that is both fun to do/build and to enjoy as a guest. My experience at the guest house helped me learn many practical skills ( painting doors/ walls, building furniture, gardening) and get to know the coast of Sweden by bike. Simrisham is a quiet place but the landscapes are amazing. Gusfat is a reasonable person with loads of patience and really organized which makes things super easy

The guest house is a lovely clean and comfortable house in simrishamn. Gustaf is a very friendly and helpful owner who takes time to explain work in detail and is very patient with early mistakes. Work is difficult at first but very rewarding. From decorating to cleaning and maintenance I've learned a lot of skills and improved my work performance. Gustaf also made the effort to invite us out with his family one night. Overall very happy with my time here it went very quick and was enjoyable. Simrishamn is a nice but quiet town outside of summer so travelling in Skåne is essential.

First of all, the place is gorgeous! It is surrounded by nature and there is a lot of beaches and harbors that you can go by bike or walking. My own accomodation was fantastic, I had everything The work is a little bit hard but you get used to it quite fast. There is a routine made for doing the things which makes it easier (to do and to get used to) Last but not least, Gustaf has always been really charming. He is really comprehensive and has helped me with every doubt or problem that I've had. Moreover, he's included me in plans with his family which has made me feel welcome and like home!

As my first volunteering experience here, I can't be happier to have spent it in the guest house! Gustaf and Andrea are kind and welcoming and the communication was perfectly easy, I felt more than comfortable. The work was discussed before and if there was something else, Gustaf asked me if I was okay with that, which I highly appreciated. Simrishamn is a small town and I was most of the time working on my own, but that was actually what I came here for - to just relax and spend some time with myself in a beatiful environment. So if you want something similar, the guest house is the right choice!
