I spent in Tolne one of the happiest time of my life. Gregory, Janne and their wonderful kids are really fun and hospital. The work is a lot, but it's totally worth. During my time there I learnt lots of different and even unexpected things, and I made new friends from all over the world. I will never forget this place and always be thankful to all the people I met there. I miss them all.

My experience at Tolne Gjæstgivergaard has been amazing :)
Since the first day you're free to choose your tasks, days off and meals. Work can be a lot in high season but easy to do and the team is well organised.
I was so lucky about all the people I've met there: owners, guests, other volunteers...
I've learnt a lot about cooking, pottery or running a b&b, and talks with both Gregory and Janne are always so inspiring.
You won't regret if you volunteer there!

Helping at Tolne was great, Gregory and his family are so nice, and they always were so attentive to take care of their volunteers and they did, they are always willing to teach us new things and share lovely stories and of course the food was amazing.

Staying at Tolne Gjæstgivergaard was great! Welcoming & hospitable. Ate lunch & dinner together— the family plus the 2 volunteers. In June the workload was not too busy but enough to keep us going. Kept true to the hours listed. when there was a long day they told us beforehand & the next day was shorter. They were flexible and let us choose our days off. cleaning the kitchen/cafe, cleaning house & the guest rooms, meal preparation, serving guests in the cafe. Cute tiny town, with a forest & nothing else. Look into a rail pass as exploring nearby towns will add up in purchasing train tickets!

It was a beautiful experience living in the middle of a forest, taking care of the family animals and eating such good quality food. It’s a great option if you want to have a break from the city, Gregory’s family feels like a home.
