My experience in the lodge was incredible! The place is so beautiful and the people make it even better. It was very fulfilling to be working around such a good staff, I learned so much. To make friendships with people from all around the world, from staff to guests have been great, the tours offered are very fun, I enjoyed a lot my time there.

Definitely recommend, the lodge will forever be in my heart. I made some amazing memories there. Agustin and all the team made us feel at home while being in direct contact with the jungle. The work can be harder when the lodge is full (nothing crazy though) but they always called more people in so that nobody overworked and felt bad working there. The main chores are cleaning the commons area, helping with the service of food and washing dishes. If there's space on the boat and time we were always welcome to join the activities in the morning and afternoon.

An amazing experience! We spent a month there and it was terrific. Agustin kept in mind busy/ low times so he arranged enough staff/ volunteers to don't overworked anyone. Task are easy: cleaning, welcome guests, serve meals and sometimes translate on tours. As we are cooks we helped also in the kitchen learning new recipes and cooking with new ingredients for us. All the staff is nice and welcoming. Feels a bit sad to leave since we got such a nice group with the staff and volunteers to hang out with but very grateful for the opportunity ☺️.

My experience at the lodge was unforgettable. I had the opportunity to learn about the local culture and also the fauna and flora. The host offers daily the lodge tours that are simply fascinating. The meals served are delicious. And I was lucky enough to have a suite room all to myself. Honestly the benefits this host offers are better than a volunteer could ask for. There were some days with bigger clientele that I worked more than expected but it is acceptable taking into account the benefits granted by the host. Gracias Agustín, Beto, Indira, Sindy, Diana e Roberth por todo ❤️

I had an incredible experience volunteering at the lodge. The team is wonderful and the Lodge is surrounded by nature and animals. One of my favorite part was helping with translation at the tours that take place 2 times a day. My Spanish improved by a lot and I learned so much about the rainforest, different plants and their functions, animals and the Kichwa culture. Besides the tours are fun and diverse. Since the lodge is quite small the contact to the tourists is very personal which creates a great atmosphere. Food is amazing and there is a lot to explore as well as the option to relax.

Other people's reviews are amazing and I'm pleased to know that other people had a good experience, but I didn't feel respected, communication was poor, very long hours if you are alone and I wasn't arranged a day off, I was quite sick and was still expected to go on the tours when I felt awful. I left early because I value my health, my time, and my energy and the expectations and hostility was too high to spend a whole month there. I'm saddened but best of luck and maybe you're experience will be different.

Dear Naomi,
It is important for us to hear your comments, but we tried to arrange your off days and you asked to us to work a little more to end your program earlier. You left the program with no notification to us, that is nothing professional of your side. We understand that you had a priority to meet a friend of you and for that reason give these explanations from your side are not very real for us.
Sad experience for us.

The place it's amazing and also the people who work there. Augustin it's a wonderful person and make the stay really enjoyable! The most interesting part is partecipating in the activities, but it's not always possible, and if you staying at the lodge is relaxing but can also be boring. The work hours are not always respected and for the day off you have to ask otherwise you won't have. Unfortunately for some days I had to work more because I was the only volonteer there.

I stayed for 3 weeks, had 2-3 days off, for half of the time I worked 10-12 hrs each day, and the rest 4-5 hrs per day. The hours depend on how many guests and volunteers there are. The room for volunteer was decent, the food was great. The main tasks were to help serve 3 meals, clean up afterward, and translate for guests who don't speak Spanish. The tours were fun. I learned SO much from the amazing staff, Roberto, Indi and Diana. Overall, it was a fruitful and interesting experience, the downside was the long hours. I suggest talking to Agustin in advance to see if it's smth you're ok with.

Lovely place to stay, room & food was great. Working with Indy & Diana in the kitchen was fab, they're lovely people. I got to experience more tours than expected (as a translator), most of which were interesting and a good opportunity to practise Spanish. I would only recommend the lodge if you're confident in Spanish otherwise you can't communicate with the kitchen staff/guide. Main issue was the hours. I worked 6-10 hours everyday, no days off. The long-term volunteer didn't help & it wasn't clear why. It has potential to be a great placement but a rota is needed to protect volunteer hours.
