Program Details

This is a 20 year old family run homestead project on the Hamakua coast of the Big Island bordering one of the largest rivers in Hawaii. We've been hosting volunteers for fifteen years, primarily through the WWOOF program which we ended at the start of the pandemic.

We are ready to reemerge and begin hosting again begining the Summer of 2021 by inviting more seasoned and independent travelers to bring a mosquito net and basic camping gear and help get the out-buildings and infrastructure a refresh.

The primary space shared by volunteers is a six bunk treehouse with a large springwater fed kitchen by the pond hidden away in the jungle. There are also other spaces for couples or people desiring privacy with views down the river and a change of scenery spread out over almost 40 acres.

We require only ten hours a week, and can accommodate most schedules.

Activities & Shift

Work can be completed in two or three days a week, leaving the rest of your time free.

Rules

Vaccinated, independent travelers only. We do not provide any transportation or camping gear.
