The Exchange

You are the one in charge! The cat commander. You will use your own creative ambition and imaginative freedom to recreate an old farm in your own sustainable style. You will be in charge of running the project with motivated a team of passionate volunteers to get our farm purring once more. Speaking (a little) French is a big plus.


40 hours of help per week

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.

Administration: Help with booking systems and payments.

Handyman: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

What you get

2 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Program Details

This is a project that supplies a large amount of freedom but requires a lot of ambition, independence and the ability to be self sufficient. You will be in charge of leading the project including managing other volunteers and building up this unique creative community. The ability to be a team leader along with dealing with group dynamics is a must for this position.
Being resourceful and using your initiative are very important to the success of this project in terms of seeing what the project needs to be sustainable and move forward.

Activities & Shift

Recruiting volunteers to help
Creating your own vision for the cat farm in collaboration with the Captain and following the values of the Adventures of the Valparaiso
Having an overview and being able to make task lists
Managing people and delegating
Able to communicate on a daily base with volunteers
Social media skills
Being general handy ( and if a skill misses you know how to get the required skill in your team)
Love offgrid living and know that this means less energy than in a normal home
Longevity since the first two weeks is going to be the hardest.
