The experience

We try to practice child lead and free range parenting approach and would hope to find someone comfortable and familiar with this. We have two young boys, and try to find two people to work together to look after both boys, to swim, play, go out walks to the beach and adventure. boys are 4 & 2. In exchange we provide all meals, access to our resort and shared tented accommodation.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Fluent English

Between 18 and 49 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

We hope you will be a member of our family, and also a valuable member of our team! We hope for you to understand our perspective and carry this forward to your engagements with our sons.
We are in otherwise very happy for whoever is caring for our boys, to have their own relationship and boundaries with them. We want our boys to have a wide variety of experiences and relationships, and to be treated as people. We the parents will be on hand at all times, and otherwise want you to PLAY PLAY PLAY with our kids and have a fantastic and adventurous time.
We generally accept two people for the role simultaneously and you work together with both boys. We only accept applications from people with previous experience with children, and ask for on online video call before acceptance.

Activities & Shift

The shift is 5 hours a day 6 days a week. We are happy to rearrange hours etc to meet needs of people upon discussion. You will generally work in the morning, and have the same day off each week. You will either work together with Madeleine ( the mother) or with another volunteer, and play with the children in various settings depending on your desire or theirs. You can take them to many local attractions like the water park, the beach, the horse farm or local shops etc. You can also stay on the property and do activities with them as you wish. If you can drive they can also be taken further into to town etc.

Rules

We ask that you treat our children with respect, you listen to them are kind and never doubt their ability to try.
We ask that screens are not used to entertain them. Music is more than fine. :)
Please make sure you know where they are at all times.
Although having the occasional ice cream etc is ok, please do not feed them junk food. Healthy snacks are always provided.
All expenses will be covered by us on your shift.
You will be living on site with many other staff and volunteers, please treat them respectfully, and if you have any issues with accommodation or other staff please inform us.
We provide all 3 meals a day, accommodation in a SHARED furnished tent and access to all our resort facilities.
