The Exchange

An Australian family living in Bulgaria, we are passionate about the environment and people with disabilities, so we bravely bought a large dilapidated campsite, near the Alexander Stamboliyski Dam. We need help repairing and modifying the cabins and restaurant so they are accessible to people in wheelchairs; installing a water-saving system and pruning fruit trees etc.. If you have skills or want to learn we'll welcome you with open arms.

Program Details

Volunteers will help with one or more of our family and share meals with us. If we go on outings they are welcome to join us also.
Jobs can be working on the buildings (sanding, painting etc), demolishing old buildings, mowing, pruning fruit and nu trees, cleaning, cooking and other tasks. We try to match Volunteers with jobs they have experience with or jobs that they want to learn.

Activities & Shift

Five hours help a day, five days a week. While we have a work schedule it is flexible , according to the season and weather. Some days you just have to go for a swim or a walk in the forest and work can wait.

Because of health reasons we prefer non-smokers.
This is a water catchment area for the dam so we prefer people to use eco-friendly personal care products - shampoo, body wash, soap etc. Better for the environment.
