Café Rio Hostel now is definitely a home to me (this place actually doesn't look like a hostel, but it's cozy as home). Márcia and Jacques are so friendly! And their son Yan too. It's realy nice to talk to them, and they really help me to make my schedule possible. I'm having a good time here with a lot of good experiences and memories. Also, Laranjeiras is such a nice neighborhood.
The hosts are definitely amazing people, always willing to help you out! I would suggest discussing hours and tasks prior to commitment, as it may vary from the post (understandable due to the way hostels are sometimes managed). Communication and flexibility goes a long way. Overall, it was a great experience for me :)
I learned a lot staying at Café Rio Hostel. It was an awesome experience as a volunteer. The hostel is very comfortable and everybody was very receptive. It is very well located so the access to most beaches and tourist spots in Rio was very quick. I recommend it to everyone.
It was pretty good working at Café Rio, the work was really easy to do, and the hostel made me feel like home! The location is pretty good and not so dangerous. There were points and little things that bothered me, but nothing so serious! In general the experience really worthed and I made great friends there
