It was a great experience, everyone was so nice to me, even though I had no idea of portuguese and had a hard time understanding it. The work was light and the hostel is really well connected. Jacques and Marcia gave me lots of good recommendations about what to visit, where to buy, etc. Rio is an amazing city full of contrasts, nice people and good food. I can't wait to explore the rest of Brazil!
Café Rio Hostel now is definitely a home to me (this place actually doesn't look like a hostel, but it's cozy as home). Márcia and Jacques are so friendly! And their son Yan too. It's realy nice to talk to them, and they really help me to make my schedule possible. I'm having a good time here with a lot of good experiences and memories. Also, Laranjeiras is such a nice neighborhood.
The hosts are definitely amazing people, always willing to help you out! I would suggest discussing hours and tasks prior to commitment, as it may vary from the post (understandable due to the way hostels are sometimes managed). Communication and flexibility goes a long way. Overall, it was a great experience for me :)
We are a small hostel. we want that our guest feels like staying in you house. That is our difference. it is important that people who works here makes all the effort to the guest feels like staying at home.lAbout the host
