Join our team and help us out with reception/housekeeping/events
We ask for the same things you would already expect. Live ins are asked to look after the hostel. Front desk duties are to check guests in with a smile and interact with them. Cleaning duties involve looking after the place in general and on some shifts getting down and cleaning up. Housekeeping shift also is there to help with beds and making sure hostel is not lacking anything. Don't worry, we don't work any one to hard!
What you offer
25 hours of help per week
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.
Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

What's not included
Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa
We expect a caring and an outgoing individual. You are the captain of the ship when you're on shift. You are responsible for checking people in OR cleaning OR both (if really slow shift). Guest check-in and guest interactions, as well as cleaning, are the top things for us! In the end, it's all about our staff, and facilities!
Activities & Shift
Front Desk: Open early in the morning, answer phone, and door for guests. Always start with cleaning up the kitchen thoroughly, and a refill of the morning breakfast. Clean around the exterior, and interior for loose trash, and wipe down all common areas for any dust using bleach wipes. During the initial walk around, collect all dirty linen, and throughout the shift supervise their wash and dry cycles. Check the bathroom cleanliness and room cleanliness throughout the shift, paying attention to blinds, dust, under beds, corners, etc.
Cleaning staff: Remove all dirty linen and sheets along with front desk staff, and go "crazy" mode in bathrooms/showers. Afterward, have to check the exterior and interior for any larger trash, as well as the rooms. Next would be to make all of the beds, that need to be prepared for guests, vacuum the carpets, or mop the floors. Once the bathrooms/showers/
Be friendly and hard working. Please keep in mind that even in a hostel, this is still a job, and in our case, we want to be the best hostel in DC by far, so our staff has to represent =)
