Help me around the house and enjoy New York

I had good times with precious people. The house is in a safe area and has cameras and good locks. Grace and Billy are the hosts. They speak English and are fluent in Mandarin. I had contact with very nice people like Fredy, Domi, Benja, Pedro and Meagan. I was there during my gap year, looking for different experiences. I didn't help much around the house, but I had the opportunity to participate in transforming a truck into an RV with Billy. We worked 5 hours a day, from 7am to noon. Lots of fun, with good tools and a creative eye from Billy. Hope to see everyone again soon! Good moments!

It was a good experience, i knew a lot of people from another countrys and talk with them about the world, our hobbies, our goals, etc. Grace is a nice person, she always worried about us and she has a nice hospitality with her visitors. I recommend this host if you want to travel to NY, is a AMAZING CITY !!

I like so much meet Grace and work with her, sure was a experience to repeat. Grace let me feel very comfortable. The house is secured and to close to Manhattan. The work is very easy but you need was attention to the details and the process to do the work. You only need clean and care the commons areas in the house and stay attention to the rules, is very important follow the rules because the house lives other people and the volunteries need get the good example for all. My english is not good yet but I can understand all Grace teach and tell me and talk with her.

I loved my time in New York and i am so thankfull for this experience! The Host always made sure to make you feel as comfortable as possible. It wasnt always perfect, but it never is! So i would absolutly recomend to stay in Hudson County if you want to visit Nyc and meet interesing new people from all around the world

It was great to meet Grace the Host and the other volunteers, it was my first experience and I really enjoyed it. Working hours are simple 2-3 hours of work in the morning and afterwards you free. The house isnt far from New York , path train within walking distance from the house. I felt very safe while staying at Grace's house.

It was a great first experience for me, Grace is so nice and explain all the things that she want to we do, the roomies are lovely and good friends, the house are close to the train station and Manhattan, It's easy to go there whenever you want because is 24 hours

My experience in New York was great. Especially the location of the house was good! Close to the Path and supermarkets. The tasks that were asked were totally fine. I also got along with the host and everybody in the house. They were kind and made sure that you were safe! The only thing you have to keep in mind is, that the room you are staying in is a little small for three volunteers, but mostly I just had one roomate, which was perfectly fine! Overall I would reccomend this place!

I would like to recommend this experience for everyone who has a little time and disposal for learning something new! Grace is kindly and help you with adaptation, to get know the place where you'll live and with tips for what place you can eat and etc.

On overall, it was a good experience with a bittersweet end. Some things were really great and others were really bad, which makes me to grade this experience with an average score of 3.5 out of 5. The best things are the location of the house and the duties/activities proposed by the host and the worst parts were the accommodations and the relationship with the host, this last very simple and straight but not empathetic or polite at all. It is definitely not recommended for first time, younger travelers, specially from South America, which will tend to find it very challenging.
