The Experience

We have many projects we would like to accomplish through this program. The land we just purchased was once an exotic flower exporter. We would like to ready a piece of land and plant these flowers. In another space we would like to prep and plant a bunch of Coffee. Also plant a large organic garden to support our rest. Possibly establish an area for chickens. We are looking for people who have experience with any of these projects.

My stay was for about a month. Diane and Cordell are good host and treated me like family. Most of my duties consist of breakfast buffet, pool cleaning, cleaning guest rooms and general areas, taking out garbage, painting , planting and leaf blowing the property. Very accommodating which allowed me to explore Puerto Rico on my free time. House was about 30 minutes from San Juan in the mountains of Aguas Buenas. Safe place with about 11 cats roaming the property and house.

Being in here was absolutely awesome! Accommodations were SO comfortable. Dinners were delicious and true Puerto Rican (you have access to food for you to cook too). The tasks included: gardening, cooking, cleaning, blowing, pressure washing. The hacienda has magnificent views everywhere. There are cats. The hosts were kind, flexible, hard workers, obliging. The other volunteers were cool as well as the guests that goes there looking for a peaceful and gorgeous place to stay. Thanks Hacienda for such an amazing and inspiring stay! The best luck always!

Staying here at the guest house has been such an amazing experience!! The hosts are so nice and welcoming. It's clean and organized here and I felt so safe! The tasks are not hard at all but fun and manageable. I was able to build friendships, connect with locals and guests, and learn more about myself, life, food/cooking, my culture, and more! And speaking of food, the food here is so delicious!! The rooms and beds are cozy and clean and there's more than enough food to make yourself lunch. Overall I felt very at home and comfortable and had a lot of fun!

The Hacienda is truly a wonderful place where endless care is being poured into. This is a place for people who can manage their own tasks and time efficiently as theres always something to do, you just have to look or ask. While this is a secluded place, you have many chances to go to wonderful destinations when guests are getting dropped off or getting a pick up. If you decide to come here, please do all that you can to be useful. I was never forced to da task I didn't like. The tasks included grocery shopping, taking out trash, cooking, cleaning rooms, landscaping, and general cleaning.

A true family environment. The Hacienda is a warm, friendly bed and breakfast with a steady routine of daily chores. You can choose the tasks you feel you are best suited for. There is always a project to contribute on to help restore & maintain the property, which is stunning! It was so enjoyable to interact with guests & learn new things from the people who have travelled there. Cordell, Dianne & Gigi work tirelessly day in and day out so it was rewarding to be able to lend a hand. They never missed an opportunity to say thank you. Do not hesitate to come help out! You won't want to leave.
