Permaculture help...Greening the Arizona desert :)

The experience

We are making a positive impact on the environment!
Join us for a week of volunteer work near Bowie, Arizona at the magical Diamond Mtn. Retreat Center where we will focus on improving the hydrology of the land through the use of loose rock structures to control erosion and retain moisture in the system.

Our First Project: Bear Spring Restoration

Greening the Arizona Desert

Located at the foot of the Chiricahua Mountains near the USA/Mexican Border, this remote retreat center is dedicated to restoring a fragile desert ecosystem with historically notable biodiversity that has been damaged by human activity. Funding is in place for 4,500 trees which will be planted from locally sourced seed. A team of ecologists and implementers is reshaping the land for water catchments in 2023 which will support the widespread planting of diverse pioneer plants.
