Good location, the work hours are good and flexible and smoking and drinking it's allowed in the hostel. I'm grateful for the experience because I learned a lot about the culture and they made me a birthday dinner but they are very cheap people in every way, THERE ARE COCKROACHES EVERYWHERE, the communication it's terrible, James doesn't know about social interactions and Chris it's a very stressful person you have to do only how he likes it, you cannot think by yourself plus they will put you in uncomfortable situations with guest because they like money and if they can get it they will.

It was a good experience, the hostel is located in a good neighborhood and they do what they said on the site. But the work sometimes is heavy, and they treat you as a real employee, with no concerns if you over work, or complainnig f if you forgot some task. They could enhance the hostel place, consider the guest reclamations and give a better conditions to volunteers, because they does not spending with employee wages.

Awesome location in San Diego. I legitimately believe the owners and upper staff mean well, everyone made me feel very welcome. There are some inefficient communication and management processes that make the environment more complicated and high stress than it should be. Totally recommend the place, just be prepared to play by their rules.

One of the best experiences of my life! The hostel is very well located and the staff is really nice! The boss,James, always tried to help me giving local advices and making my schedule more flexible! I worked at front desk and as housekeeper. Working at front desk is more fun, because you can get in touch with guests and isn't so exhausting as housekeeping. Working doing housekeeping is a little busy, but still makes this experience worth it! I really wanna come back to wonderful San Diego! The beaches are amazing, people are very receptive and I've never seen a sunset as beautiful as there❤️

I stayed 3 months in the hostel as a staff, was a great time and I met a lot of people from around world. The building is a little old, but it is ok. The housekeeping job is heavy for just one person, but still good if you will stay just one month or few days. If you have a good English you can do the front desk and is much better than housekeeping. The staff is nice.. Chris is a great person and will help you with everything you need. Was a great time and one day I will come back! ;) thanks

All the staff left when I arrived and when I've been for two weeks there I understood the reason.

Amy and James were very nice and caring, but the place wasn't how I expected and there wasn't enough staff to take care of the tasks.

This was my first experience in a hostel... ever! And I can tell you that I grew up is so many ways! the hostel staff is amazing! I got all the help I needed to learn how to work at the front desk and the other activities that keep the place working well. The hostel is located in the best quarter downtown, near grocery stores, mall, bus and trolley stations, nightlife, drugstores, The Convention Center, parking lots, and restaurants! Just one thing you should all know: the hostel is an old building, and some people may dislike this. But it is all functional and the owners keep improving it
