Home London was my first Worldpackers trip and it was great! The hostel is in a great place (Kings Cross) , making it easier for you to see London. The staff is super fun and is always willing to help. I was housekeeping and the tasks are overall pretty doable. As soon as you understand the rhythm of the hostel you'll get the hang of it. Just don't forget to check the rota every night: it changes without warning. You'll have to deal with lots of different people but that's part of the hostel experience and you just have to embrace it! Most people are lovely. Hope I get a chance to come back :)
It was my first experience with worldpackers and it was very good. The hostel is a funny place to stay and is located in a very good part of the city. The tasks were very nice, but the schedule was often changed during the week (but it wasn't a big deal they were very open to talk and solve the problems). I had a few problems with the owner of the hostel, but the rest of the staff was AMAZING, I already miss them all. If you are looking for an experience to grow as a person that's what you are looking for. Thank you home London :)
My first time living a worldpacker experience & it was the best month of my life.
I met fantastic people from all over the world, made awesome friends and improved a lot my english speaking skills while living right in the center of London! It was just fun!
The hostel felt like home not just for the guest but for the staff, the tasks were light and manageable (made 22-24h/week), i had a lot of free time for sightseeing (and for some clubbing :P)
I definitely recommend this place, it's perfect to live an excellent worldpacker experience and kick yourself out there to see&meet the world!
I'd totally recommend the experience of working/living at Home London. The staff and the other volunteers are great, they are very organized about our work schedule and we have a lot of time off to enjoy and get to know the city. I learned a lot of things at work and met amazing people from different cultures there. At the end the hostel felt like home, I'm going to miss this place!
We have anamazing location in the heart of King's Cross. Walking distance to Camden Town and British museum. And only a 10 minute tube- or bus ride away to oxford street, Big Ben and Buckingham palace. We welcome volunteers from all over the world and offer to learn new skills, english culture and make new friends. All we want in return is 100% work effort and a positive attitude.About the host
