This was our first volunteering experience in Costa Rica and it was truly remarkable. We felt very welcome, appreciated and could benefit from our profession as teachers in the social projects as well as taking care of the younger volunteers. We recommend this stay to anyone who wants to stay in one of the most beautiful areas of Costa Rica for free + food with an awesome host/staff in exchange for responsible and creative work. Beate regularly asked us for our opinion, how to improve projects and let us free reign on organising activities with the younger volunteers. 10/10!!

I had an excellent experience at the organization! I was helping in some projects like Recycling and Casita Caribe (with children), and also I helped to build a Landing Page and to create some contents for their social media. The tasks were really chill and the times were totally respected. The place is nestled in the jungle so it's a really nice experience to live completely surrounded by nature. Beate, Fede, Leo and all staff are super friendly and kind. Thank you so much again and I hope to see you before long!

Finding the organization and staying there for 4 weeks was the best unexpected twist of my digital nomad trip. When I happened to read about them, I immediately felt a strong pull and applied a moment later. After few days, I was already at Casa Caribe, ready for new adventures. I got to do various things and meet many amazing people. I enjoyed being responsible for my own tasks, finding solutions, being creative, offering ideas, and being able to contribute. The story of the founders, Beate and Fede, is really special, and the location is truly paradise-like :) Muchas gracias 🙏

It was such a good experience to stay and learn so much in this paradise The team is lovely and it's calm, in the middle of the jungle, Puerto Viejo is a nice place to stay I've worked in the locals schools and did amazing workshops for the kids about environmental consciousness I really liked working in team and be free about the content/ how to run a workshop and be creative Thanks a lot Pura Vida 🤍

We loved our stay at the organization, a fun place with lots going on, staying a long time is a real benefit so you can enjoy the freedom of taking ownership of projects your working on and getting involved in the community. It takes a week to settle in and find your role but once you are settled you will feel part of the casa caribe family.

Good experience overall. The hostel is stunning and the food is so good. Good environment with the managers and cool vibes with the other volunteers. Pretty far from everything tho (beach and supermarket are like 15 minutes walk)

Fue una experiencia altamente transformadora, impactó tanto en lo personal como en mi vínculo con otras personas y seres. Aprendí mucho, salí de mi comodidad, encaré nuevos desafíos, conocí muchas personas y proyectos, en tiempo libre pude conocer increíbles lugares de la localidad, realicé tareas de impacto social y ambiental, pude proponer cosas al proyecto, me sentí trabajando en equipo, sentí que era escuchada y que me daban la libertad para hacer. Recomiendo altamente. Fue mi primer voluntariado, ¡el lugar y el proyecto ayudaron un montón a que la experiencia sea altamente buena!

Maravillosa experiencia, en una comunidad alegre y comprometida con el cuidado del medioambiente, compuesta por personas muy valiosas que me enseñaron mucho y donde me sentí muy acompañada y que mi trabajo fue un aporte. Se respetan las horas de trabajo, los días libres y se comparte en un buen ambiente. Totalmente recomendable!

La experiencia has sido buenísima, fede y beate son súper buenos anfitriones y todo el staff fue super disponible y un muy buen equipo. He aprendido mucho sobre el medio ambiente y esta experiencia me permití involucrarme en proyectos muy interesantes y entretenidos. Por fin la comida de Marlene era exquisita! Un saludo a todo, sois muy buena onda! Pura Vida!!

Estuve en la casa 2 meses. Pros: me gustó el proyecto. Sobre todo la limpieza de playa y participar en los colegios. He conocido a mucha gente y he compartido momentos inolvidables. Contras: la organización no es su fuerte. Los managers pueden almorzar y entrar en la cocina pero yo no estaba autorizada. Incomodidad al escuchar discusiones de pareja. Eché de menos mejor trato de los managers, sobre todo pq convivía con ellos. Había pulgas en la habitación y tuve erupciones graves en la piel. La comida solo hidratos. No proteína para vegetarianos. Staff sobrecargado. Gracias x la experiencia!
