I had another lovely stay with Neelam and Charlie. It almost felt like coming back home - Charlie is such a kind-hearted kid, and Neelam is so welcoming and friendly. She cooks very nice food too! And I really like the home, it's a cozy place with lots of things to do. Time flew past really quickly, would be very happy to be back again!

Charlie is a lovely boy, and taking care of him was fun while entertaining and easy. The tasks that were asked are simple, quick to be completed, and pretty alike to what is mentioned in the advice.

Such a pleasant experience! Charlie is an absolute joy to be around, taking care of him gave me a lot of happiness. He is energetic and gives you lots of cuddles ❤️ Neelam is a very fair host - she's always making sure that you're ok and have plenty of food to choose from, and she's flexible with the time off, anything can be arranged when you just let her know your schedule. She also became a good friend instantly and we had a lot of fun together! The location is super convenient - you have everything you need right at your doorstep and easy access to the home. Hoping to come back soon!

Those were difficult days, the arrangement was not followed, on the days I was there I worked for an hour and a half in the morning, and in the afternoon I picked up her son at 5 pm and had to work until 10 pm, when the hostess arrived at home almost every day, at the end of the week I worked the whole two days without a break, I ended up leaving before the agreed time because I witnessed another Worldpacker who was with me at the house going through unpleasant situations with the hostess, I also heard negative comments from other travelers who for their reasons did not comment here.

Firstly Victor did not work the whole week as the week was shared with Camila. On the first weekend I stayed with him to show him the duties, I cooked him breakfast, lunch and dinner. As he was on the phone the whole time I did not feel comfortable leaving him as he was always glued to his phone so I stayed with him for the safety of my son. We also drove to an activity place where Victor spent the whole time taking pictures and on his phone. He fell asleep on the drive there. On Sunday he made my son go to sleep by 6pm instead of 7pm so that he could put his feet up on my sofa and watch football. 6pm is an hour earlier so my son then woke up at 5am for me the next day. Victor stayed in bed. Also he had breaks in the middle of the day. Monday was a day off - he had 2 days off in the week and 2 further half days. The following week we had scheduled 3 days off. Everything was on a calendar and pinned on the wall. Victor always went to bed late, disturbing us with loud telephone conversations and the tv on. I always had to wake him up and he did the drop off and then went back to sleep, then gym in the afternoon. As for him working till 10 pm, my son sleeps at 7pm and I am home between 8 and 10pm, all he has to do is keep the baby monitor in front of him, he used to be watching tv during that time. The arrangement was followed, it is a bit unfortunate that Victor along with another volunteer tried to change the process. Everything is written down for this reason. Victor along with another volunteer was asked to leave due to the bad atmosphere being created, which is when the unpleasant situation was created during which time they were rude to me. All my world packers know I am fair with time off, all they have to do is communicate instead of talking about me.
The people concerned clearly had minimal work ethic, and assumed they were on holiday, not volunteering which created this situation. I am now asking more questions to filter out such people. These people have no understanding of babysitting requirements which are nor arduous but merely require presence, focus and commitment.
My only son means a lot to me and if someone needs to be on the phone whilst in sole care of my son this doesn't work for me.
The hostel is a better place for Victor. He wants to party and childcare and party with responsibility is not the right mix. I really wish him the best and feedback is be honest about your intentions.

Unfortunlately, things did not work out with anything. I will save the details for myself. I do not recommend this kind of experience.

The feedback reflects all I can say. For the next host please be aware.
Learning and lessons are that I wish I terminated the experience before it got to this.
If the experience was so bad then why did she stay for a month.
The intentions were different.

That was first worldpacker experience and I really enjoyed it, the best part about it was that the place was very happening and very close to central the home. Feels like being in the city yet So much greenery to experience. The room and food provided by the host was nice and the kid you have to take care of is very lovely.

Neelan was very generous. She was caring and always made sure I had food and I was comfortable. She's flexible with the schedule you just need to talk in advance to organize the week. She respected my days off, I was free to use my time as I preferred. Charlie the kid is an angel, he listens and follows instructions and gives you lots of hugs and love. He's the sweetest!!!! The location it's great, close to the station, stores, coffee shops. I am grateful for this experience and I hope in the future we can work together again ❤️❤️❤️

I had such an amazing stay here! Neelham was so welcoming and friendly!! Her son was an absolute joy to be around and had so much fun with the activities we did together. The area is the most adorable part of town with everything you need in walking distance. There were so many places to explore and I always felt safe!
