The Experience

Join our hostel volunteer team and help us have the best meals in town. You will be cooking for staff and guests and you will have to be in charge of our kitchen and our menus too. Depending on how fast you are, your day will be busy for about 5 to 8 hours. We will help you clean everything but if we are to full you will be in trouble... so careful with those portions!

It was such a great experience,that I stayed and was hired.
While volunteering I started doing cleaning shifts and soon doing night shifts, both fare work and some time to enjoy the day.
We usually had dinners and is a great moment to feel and participate in the family vibe,between workers and guests.
Had just 1 or 2 sad moments,noticed stresses about little things,that could be avoided,despite were so little that didn't affect my experience at all.
Overall I definitely recommend the place and Faro to anyone willing to come!
PS:the bikes need some maintenance,or enjoy with +adventure =}

Casa d'Alagoa has a unique atmosphere. I came into a hostel and I left a family. Everything was amazing and I look forward coming back

My experience at Casa D'Alagoa was absolutely epic. I had a great time and the people were really friendly. 3 or 4 times a week there is a very well cooked dinner, and you are allowed to use whatever food that is available to cook your own meals. If you are a cleaner, you work from 9am to about 1pm, cleaning the kitchen and/or changing beds. The hostel is very nice and there is plenty to do.
