The Experience

We are looking for young motivated people wanting to participate in a real adventure in this region. There are all kinds of tasks which has to be done to put the lagoon back to its original shape. This includes gardening, decorating, building, cleaning, all kind of electrical/mechanical work as well as creative work supporting the project. If you have already worked in any of these fields and you want to pursue it, this is the place for you.

Pros: Village is embedded in nature, gorgeous beach, met super friendly other volunteers (Chris and Kolosh), option for kayaking, really good food, fair working hours and really good sleeping place Con: Location is quite far away from Sihanoukville (17km = 20$ tuktuk), not many other volunteers Good-to-know: Dogs, only Breakfast included (other meals cost 5$ per meal, at least for us), surfing is only possible in surfing season

Overall, we loved our stay at the eco village! Working hours were super flexible, and you're right on the beach so that's a definite pro :). One thing I would say is that it's pretty far from anything (20 dollar drive) since you're right in the wilderness, so you'd have to pay extra to reach the centre. This means you're living very remote and isolated. It's also good to know that (as you're probably told beforehand by the hosts) only breakfast is accounted for any any other meals have to be paid for :) They also have two dogs and a cat, and dinner is really good!
